| In our initial consultation we meet to discuss your needs and desires, and gather all information. We assess the site in order to identify all the essential conditions that will influence the design. This inventory includes topography, existing site elements such as walkways, fences, etc., offsite conditions, availability and quality of light, soil, moisture and existing plant material. Also at this time we will make some general suggestions and discuss them with you. After our initial meeting we will develop a proposal for your review and approval.
| |
| In this stage we create a functional diagram which organizes the site by linking uses that are compatible with each other while separating those that are not. This diagram creates the structure for the design. These concepts will help you better understand our design intent. We listen to your feedback, which at this stage is crucial, and make all adjustments.
| The creation of a preliminary design is next, using your feedback. We incorporate the concept plan with grading, hardscape, plant materials, and all other design elements, which leads to the development of your finished plan.
| The presentation of the final plan includes a meeting to review the design and discuss any adjustments. The final copy of the plan will include your site analysis and concept plan, plant lists containing detailed information, and a list of quality subcontractors who can make your design a reality.
| If you choose to have Garden Merchants oversee your design implementation, we will make multiple site visits and communicate with you and the subcontractor to make sure that the design we created with you is complete and perfect. We even offer services to hand pick quality plant material for your design to ensure our mutual vision.
